The Downtown branch of the New Castle Community YMCA is the flagship facility for the organization.  The building itself was constructed in 1945 in large part to an initiative from the Rentz family.  Over the years the building has seen several changes.  The downtown location has the most comprehensive facilities of all of the branches.  All of the New Castle YMCA’s administrative offices are stationed at the downtown branch.

The Y-Zone is Lawrence County’s premier sports and recreation facility.  The Y-Zone is home to programs and leagues for all ages from preschoolers to seniors.  The Y-Zone offers a wide range of programs and leagues from indoor soccer leagues to youth lacrosse.  The facilities include two regulation basketball courts, an indoor turf field, wellness center, a batting cage, and café style lobby with complimentary wi-fi.

The New Castle Community YMCA Dek Hockey Rink was built in 1996 in a community effort to add more opportunities for physical activity for youth and adults.  The New Castle Rotary Club and YMCA initiated the construction of the rink with other contributions from members of the community.
